Motivation

I may not know you but I do know one thing about you. It’s something we both have in common. In fact, its something we all have in common. We are all human beings! The fact that you are human actually means a lot. It means that you have within you something that is very special and powerful. That thing is called imagination and only humans can imagine. Humans can imagine one thing today (let’s call it a dream) and begin putting goals in place to achieve that dream.

Setting goals is the best way to stay on course. The most effective way to go about it is to set little, easy to reach goals. With each goal that you tackle, you will be one step closer to your dream. If your dream is to be physically fit, I want you to know that it is possible for you to attain that dream so long as you stay on track. I don’t care how you may look today, your dream is possible and you can attain it. You only need one thing to attain that dream and you already have it. That thing is your mind and with your mind comes the ability to make decisions. The ability to make good, calculated decisions that will help you attain success. The decision to think positively about your goal, the decision to find a way to begin working towards your goal, the decision to commit and stay dedicated to your routine. Are you beginning to understand how important every decision you make is?

“your dream is possible”

On the other side of the coin, you can make bad decisions. A decision to wake up late, a decision to not follow through, a decision to think negatively. If you were to make those bad decisions every day for the next year, you will be worst off than you are today. You need to develop the mentality of a winner. Before you can build your body, you must first build your mind. You have to develop the habits of thinking positively about your goal each and every day. Don’t let anything divert your positive goal-oriented mentality. Not your friends, not your family, not your circumstances, nothing! The only way you are going to achieve your goal is if you believe you can. Don’t expect anyone to motivate you, you must motivate yourself. You need to wake up every morning and look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself “I will achieve my goal and I will not let anything stand in my way.” Do this every day and you will be surprised where you will be in a month.

“you must motivate yourself”

What you need to understand is that you carry the same DNA as every other human who has ever walked the face of the earth.

You carry the same DNA as the greatest innovators that put their stamp on history. You carry the same DNA as the greatest athletes and bodybuilders. You carry that very same DNA in you! They weren’t wired any differently. The only difference is their mindset. You can accomplish anything if you just believe and are willing to put in the work; just as they did. It will not be easy. You may already have a lot going on in your life but you are going to have to find a way to make progress towards your dream each and every day. Even if it’s a little each day but you must be diligent.

“put in the work”

Make time throughout your day. If you have to watch less TV then do it. If you have to get up earlier then do it. If you have to go to bed later then do it. Do what has to be done! Make the sacrifices with a smile on your face and your dream in your mind. You can do it; I believe in you!

  1. Hello and thanks for sharing, motivation is the key to success. Many people are living their dreams and living the life that they always wanted live. Motivation is good and is a must to help you reach your goals. Your post is well detailed with good information that will help a lot of people

    1. Thank you for your comment Norman – I totally agree that we are all capable of living our dreams. If you are willing to put in the work and stay motivated, nothing can stop you!

  2. Motivation is something that we lack when it comes to doing a task. I still remember being demotivated and depressed in college and that reflected in all the work that I tried doing.

I have changed now and have realized that it was being demotivated that kept me away from getting results. Great post.

  3. Great post Johel, I totally agree with what you’re saying. I think to change yourself on the outside you need to change yourself in the inside, ie your mindset. Believing in yourself to reach your fitness may at times be more difficult than actually working out, so you need to some reason within that’s strong enough to withstand these hard times.

    1. I’m very happy that you enjoyed this post. It’s great that you mentioned the fact that having a strong enough reason inward will propel you outward. I couldn’t agree with you more. A strong reason is the bridge between thought and action. Thank you for your comment Lyle!
